Age: 11|  Weight: 12-6| J: Capt Douglas White(7)| T: Douglas White| OR:  120| D
Won and finished second in military amateur jockey handicaps at Sandown last season, latterly no match for useful sort in February. Won a point the following month and no surprise to see him competitive if ready to roll.

Age: 9|  Weight: 12-6| J: Mr Dominic Lewis(7)| T: D Skelton| OR:  119| CD
C&D winner who resumed to winning ways in hunter chase at Stratford in May but struggled since, pulling up on return to fences in a handicap chase at Fakenham last month. Return to hunter chasing could spark a resurgence.

Gracchus De Balme230
Age: 10|  Weight: 12-6| J: Mr H Crow(5)| T: J J O'Shea| OR:  134| D
Useful ex-Irish hurdler/chaser for Joseph O'Brien and right back to his best when landing the Foxhunters at Aintree last season. Backed that up with a decisive win at Stratford in May and he's one to consider (despite tendency to hang) having gone well fresh previously.

Age: 11|  Weight: 12-6| J: Mr F Philipson-Stow(7)| T: Lemos Souza| OR:  126| CD
Fairly useful chaser and C&D winner for previous connections. Looke rusty on first run since leaving Henry Oliver at Sandown last month and ought to be closer to form with sights lowered.

Shanagh Bobp18
Age: 8|  Weight: 12-6| J: Sgt Nick Oliver(7)| T: Henry Oliver| OR:  125| CD
Grade 2 novice winner but lost way for Nicky Henderson. Opened his hunter chase account at this track in May but unable to build on creditable debut for new yard when disappointing in Class 2 handicap chase at Uttoxeter in July. Second in pair points since and worth a market check back under Rules.

St Cuthbert's Cave47
Age: 8|  Weight: 12-2| J: Mr James King| T: J J O'Shea| OR:  128| D
Fairly useful chaser. Sold from Gordon Elliott for 17,000 gns last summer and got back on the up when making successful debut for Simon Edwards at Uttoxeter (2m) in September. Justified favouritism in a pair of points since and unexposed over this trip on first hunter chase start for new yard.

Take Allt61
Age: 11|  Weight: 12-2| J: Mr Samuel Scott(7)| T: Myles Osborne| OR:  127| C| D
Ended losing run in a 2½m course hunter chase in April. Didn't deliver as much as promised when fourth in an amateur riders' handicap at Cheltenham in November but no surprise to see him in the mix if things fall right, having rejoined previous yard,

Age: 11|  Weight: 12-0| J: Miss Ella Herbison(7)| T: R Pudd| OR:  117| D
Multiple point winner who landed 4-runner hunter chase at Leicester (20.1f, heavy) prior to finding things too hot in the Foxhunters in April. Uphill task on his return.

Blagthebookiesb18
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mrs Iola Sankey(7)| T: N Gittins| OR:  72| D
Poor form under Rules but did win a pair of points in blinkers last spring (well held latest start in December). Likely to fall short back in a hunter chase.

Frontal Assaultb242
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mr Henry Bailey(7)| T: Fred Timmis| OR:  121| D
Useful chaser at best for Gordon Elliott. No impact in pair of hunter chases for Miss P. Wynne but did finish second of 3 in a Point on latest start in May. Improvement needed back under Rules for new yard.

Forecasts

Gracchus De Balme (13/8), St Cuthbert's Cave (4/1), Take All (6/1), Java Point (8/1), Shanagh Bob (10/1), Fil D'ariane (12/1), Frontal Assault (12/1), Frere d'Armes (12/1), Pyleigh Court (25/1), Blagthebookies (100/1)

Verdict

ST CUTHBERT'S CAVE is unexposed over this longer trip on first start in a hunter chase and can continue his winning sequence for new connections. Last season's Foxhunters winner Gracchus De Balme isn't entirely straightforward but has to be considered, having gone well fresh previously, while veteran Take All still has the ability to make an impact at this level but needs things to fall right.
