Captain Parma^p1⁵⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-7| J: P Cosgrave| T: James Owen| OR: 73| D

4/1

In fine form since being gelded, winning at Soutwell in October and fourth off a 5 lb higher mark 13 there (7f) last time. Can go very well again off an unchanged mark with few miles still on the clock.

Form: 272124-

(3)

Tadreeb¹⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 9-7| J: Oliver Searle⁽⁵⁾| T: B R Millman| OR: 73| CD

10/3

A 5-time C&D winner, including in this 12 months ago. Only eighth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 10 days ago but no surprise to see him bounce back here.

Form: 72046-8

(7)

Me Tarzan^b¹²

Age: 4| Weight: 9-6| J: Harry Vigors⁽⁷⁾| T: A Watson| OR: 72| CD

7/1

Made a winning start for new yard over C&D in December but only sixth of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f, 3/1) 12 days ago. Enters calculations if shrugging off latest effort.

Form: 22331-6

(4)

Maximising²⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 9-5| J: Daniel Muscutt| T: K P De Foy| OR: 71

15/2

Brought along steadily but he came in just a fair fifth of 7 on his handicap debut at Southwell (7.1f) 26 days ago. Remains likely to improve though.

Form: 8835-

(6)

Havana Sky¹⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 9-5| J: R Havlin| T: E A L Dunlop| OR: 71| C

11/1

Course winner. Tenth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f, 20/1) 10 days ago, missing break. Not the easiest to catch right.

Form: 36202-0

(5)

Crystal Dagger¹⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 8-13| J: L Morris| T: E Walker| OR: 65

12/1

Still a maiden but she posted a good second of 6 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 14 days ago, despite hanging left. One to consider.

Form: 206202-

Forecasts

Tadreeb (10/3), How Impressive (7/2), Captain Parma (4/1), Me Tarzan (7/1), Maximising (15/2), This Farh (15/2), Havana Sky (11/1), Crystal Dagger (12/1)

A case can be made for a few of these but low-mileage CAPTAIN PARMA could have more to offer after a break so edges the vote ahead of in-form maiden Crystal Dagger. Last year's victorTadreeb must enter calculations too, while How Impressive can also have a say if on song again.
