Jeu St Eloi gelding who built on bumper second when making a winning debut over hurdles in 14-runner novice at Southwell (15.8f, good to soft, 9/2) 6 weeks ago. Scored comfortably that day and well in the mix here.

Point winner who built on his hurdling debut promise when easily landing C&D novice in November. Improved his form despite finishing last of 3 against a couple of useful ones at Aintree a month ago and he sets the standard.

£80,000 Irish point winner who also bagged a bumper at Worcester in October. Posted an encouraging fourth of 13 in novice at Warwick on hurdles bow but failed to build on that when beaten at odds-on here last month. Worth another chance.

Showed a bit more than on debut when third in a 7-runner bumper at Taunton (16.5f, good to firm) on final start for Tom Weston in April. However, no encouragement both starts over hurdles this term.

Bred to need time and distance and shaped in kind when eighth of 14 in novice hurdle at Wetherby (19.7f, soft) on NH debut 15 days ago.

Has shown ability in maiden hurdles at Taunton and Huntingdon 8 months apart. Sort to be seen in a better light in handicaps in due course.

Raced 5 times in bumpers on the other side of the Channel for Adrien Fouassier, winning her last 2 in May. Not the easiest to assess and the market should prove instructive as this filly goes hurdling for new connections.

Fairly useful winner on the Flat in the France and went close to making a winning hurdles debut for new yard at Doncaster last month, clear of rest. Open to improvement and he should win soon.

A few to consider with C&D winner RACE TO BASE shading the vote having been beaten only by a couple of good prospects at Aintree. Fellow penalised-winner Looping d'Arc had a bit in hand when scoring on hurdles bow at Southwell so is next best ahead of French-recruit Donegal, who went close to making a winning start in this sphere at Doncaster.
