Horse A-Z
Very green when pulled up in novice hurdle at Chepstow on Rules debut earlier this month but proved a different proposition when running out longest-priced winner in history of British racing in an Exeter maiden (16.7f) last month. Task will be to back that up turned out only 3 weeks later.

Wide-margin point winner who looked smart when following up in a C&D bumper in March and overcame inexperience after 7 months off to maintain his 100% record in a 20f maiden back here in October. Looks sure to be suited by a stronger gallop and big shout under a penalty.

Posted fairly-useful form when winning 12-runner bumper at Wincanton (15.2f, soft) this time last year and plenty of encouragement to glean from his reappearance third in a Warwick maiden (2m) 7 weeks ago. That form has been franked and he merits serious consideration with improvement forthcoming.

80/1 when well held in Hereford bumper in November 2024. Likely outsider now hurdling 13 months on.

Reached the frame in a pair of 2m Chepstow bumpers at the beginning of 2025. That suggests he should have a future over jumps but he might be best watched this time.

€13,000 3-y-o, Creachadoir colt. Dam, placed over hurdles in France, half-sister to dual Ryanair Chase winner (stayed 3m) Allaho. Never involved when eleventh of 14 in bumper at Hereford (16.2f, good) on NH debut 44 days ago. Makes hurdles debut.

Well held in both attempts over hurdles 6 months apart last year and low-grade handicaps promise to be more her thing moving forward.

Big prices and showed little in novice/maiden hurdles late last year. Can only be watched.

Third sole start in point bumpers but weakening when short of room in a Worcester bumper back in the spring. Best watched now hurdling after 8 months off.

£30,000 6-y-o, Kingston Hill mare. Sister to fair hurdler/chaser My Gift To You, stays 29f. Dam unraced. Easy winner of sole start in Irish points and worth a precautionary market check on Rules debut.

Forecasts

Bossman Jack (10/11), Starzand (6/5), Blowers (9/1), Emerald Breeze (12/1), Spring Serenade (50/1), Sun And Rain (80/1), Man Maid (125/1), Silver Gale (150/1), Commander Teddy (250/1), Rest Is The Best (300/1), Half Pint Daisy (300/1)

Verdict

BOSSMAN JACK shaped with plenty of promise in a strong-looking maiden on return/hurdles bow at Warwick 7 weeks ago and, sure to progress, Dan Skelton's charge looks to hold serious claims of opening his account here. That said, the penalised Starzand arrives unbeaten in points/under Rules and he's the lead threat with further improvement on the cards. Shock Exeter scorer Blowers can fill the frame.
