Maiden matched his best form when runner-up in a 23f handicap hurdle at this course in November. Not in the same form here last time but this looks a weak race and he cannot be discounted on chase debut.

Latest success came at Hereford back in January 2024 (off 5 lb higher) and placed over C&D subsequently. Ran better than on reappearance when second of 10 in handicap chase at Wincanton (25.1f, soft, 3/1) 20 days ago, for all he made hard work of it. Merits consideration off workable mark.

Veteran whose last success came over C&D in soft ground in February. Not in same form this season, latest in change of headgear (retained) when third of 7 in handicap chase (18/1) at Windsor (24.3f, good) 4 days ago, finding it barely enough of a test. Seems more effective on testing ground.

Modest winner on hurdles debut in Ireland last summer but 0-10 for current yard. Probably booked for second when brought down at Fontwell penultimate start but ran poorly at Market Rasen last month and has stamina to prove over this markedly longer trip (wears change of headgear).

Winning pointer who was runner-up in a hunter chase at Tramore in spring of 2024. However he seemingly hasn't been easy to keep sound, well beaten on both hurdle starts this season following a 14-month absence. Worth a market check back over fences.

Multiple point winner in first half of 2024 but winless under Rules and has offered little in 2 runs back this winter after a lengthy absence. Worth another try over this trip but arrives with plenty to prove.

Modest winning hurdler in 2022 but hasn't reached that level this year on the back of a long absence. Finished closer than previously when second in a 4-runner chase over 2½m here last time and should be in the mix in another weak race, if seeing out the longer trip.

Veteran whose sole win came over C&D in November 2023 but is very hard to catch right nowadays (now 4 lb out of the handicap). Worth a second look in the betting given who trains him.

Despite making hard work of it, SHOT BOII stepped up on his reappearance to finish second at Wincanton last time and may be able to go one better off a workable mark. Veteran Constant Friday came as close as he has over fences when second here 23 days ago and has claims if staying the longer trip, while My Cullen ran his best race over hurdles at this track earlier in the season and now makes his chase debut in a weak race.
