Progressive over hurdles last season but things haven't gone to plan since a promising chase debut on reappearance, extending a run of non-completions through no fault of his own (badly hampered) when unseating back over hurdles 3 days ago. Definite player at his best.

Improved with a visor fitted during the summer, bagging 4 handicaps on the bounce at up to 2½m. Mark has suffered as a consequence and he's been found out in better company on previous two starts, typically not jumping fluently. Marked step up in trip will need to bring about improvement.

Ended last season with a creditable sixth in a big-field handicap Punchestown and following a slow start to this campaign, bounced right back to form in a change of headgear (retained) when runner-up over 19f at Taunton last time, for all he had the run of the race, Claims stepping back up in trip.

Low-mileage, progressive sort who readily landed a brace of Kempton handicaps (21f) in the autumn and improved further when finding only another improver too strong in hat-trick bid at Sandown (23.5f, soft) 29 days ago. Mark has risen further ahead of this but there's likely more to come.

Capitalised on a much-reduced mark (defying 80/1 odds) in a slowly run race at Kempton (24.6f) last month but was found out by a 5 lb rise when pitched into a more competitive race at Cheltenham last time. Could be vulnerable again.

Benefited from a more positive ride when making all to get off the mark at Taunton prior to following up with an improved success in a 4-runner C&D handicap last month. In deeper waters here (6 lb out of the handicap) and more required to land the hat-trick.

Double Powerful carries a stone more than his nearest rival but is the class-angle in the race, while American Sniper merits consideration back over a staying trip, having returned to form when second over 19f at Taunton last time.
