Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Handicap Hurdle

Matched his best form when runner-up at Newton Abbot (21.5f) in May but hasn't reproduced that since, latterly when well held on reappearance over C&D last month. 0-9 in handicaps and will need to find improvement.

Point winner finished runner-up at Uttoxeter (2m) on his hurdling debut in October and has run to a similar level in subsequent two starts. Can do better now handicapping.

Opened his account in this sphere in 2m juvenile at Kempton last December. Arrives in good heart, not seen to best effect when midfield in a 2m Chepstow handicap 7 days ago, having met trouble in running. Should be competitive.

Showed plenty of promise in maiden/novice hurdles and was sent off at 14/1 on handicap debut when falling over C&D 18 days ago. Remains one to be interested in if none the worse for that.

Winner over 19f at Taunton last season and back to something like that form when fifth in the corresponding race last time, staying on for a never nearer fifth having been caught further back than ideal. Has won over this C&D and cannot be discounted from 1 lb below last successful mark.

Chased home Hurricane Pat at Chepstow prior to getting off the mark at third attempt in bumpers. Placed in 3 maiden hurdles over longer trips, shaping like a non-stayer when third over 2½m at Uttoxeter in September. Looks very interesting now sent handicapping over 2m following a break.

Fairly useful hurdles in France in 2023 but yet to fire in Britain, unable to justify support on third start for new yard when well held fourth in 7-runner handicap at Leicester (15.5f, heavy) last time. Pitched into a better race but worth noting if the money comes again with blinkers back on.

Useful on Flat earlier in career but yet to better modest form over hurdles. Capitalised on falling mark over C&D in November prior to racing too freely under an inexperienced rider over a longer trip last time. Should be seen to better effect here.

Fair Flat winner was unable to justify strong support when third over 2m at Plumpton on handicap bow but improved to open his hurdles account with success in 13-runner novice handicap at Taunton (16.5f) latest, always holding on. Still early days in this sphere and there should be more to come.

Fairly useful 1m4f Flat winner but regressed on the level and has made little impact in three starts over hurdles, looked to be carrying condition when beaten a fair way out in Newbury maiden last month. Only considered if supported on handicap debut.

Showed nothing in a couple of runs for Henrietta Knight in 2024 (has undergone a wind operation in the interim) and this looks a tough ask from out of the handicap on reappearance/stable debut.
