Bugise Seagull^p1³¹

Age: 7| Weight: 12-0| J: B S Hughes| T: C E Longsdon| OR: 134

18/5

A useful hurdler/chaser but he was pulled up in Pertemps Hurdle at Cheltenham in the spring and resumed with a tailed-off last of 4 in handicap chase here (24f, good to soft) 31 days ago. Cheekpieces are reached for now.

J J Moon³¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-9| J: J J Burke| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR: 129

2/1

Had a wind op before returning with success in 2m5f handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot in October. Backed it up with a good third of 11 in handicap hurdle at Newbury (24.3f, good to soft) 31 days ago so he must enter calculations.

Form: 6221-13

Rockola Vogue³⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Kielan Woods| T: D Killahena & G McPherson| OR: 127| D

5/2

Upwardly-mobile mare who has landed handicap hurdles at Bangor in October and Ascot following month. Travelled smoothly in 3m event on latter occasion so big shout despite taking another 6 lb rise.

Form: 2214-11

Hillview⁷⁰⁴

Age: 9| Weight: 11-2| J: Joe Anderson⁽³⁾| T: G Hanmer| OR: 122| D

40/1

A useful winning hurdler at his best but he's been off the track for 23 months since pulled up in handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (25f). Has his fitness to prove here but handily weighted.

Form: 24298P/

Stone's Throw²⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 10-9| J: James Bowen| T: Billy Aprahamian| OR: 115| D

3/1

Resumed his progress with emphatic victory in 7-runner handicap hurdle at Southwell (24.3f, good to soft) 27 days ago. Up 5 lb but strong at the finish there so can't be ruled out.

Form: 4461-P1

Forecasts

J J Moon (2/1), Rockola Vogue (5/2), Stone's Throw (3/1), Bugise Seagull (18/5), Spike Jones (5/1), Hillview (40/1)

None of these can be ruled out but hat-trick seeking ROCKOLA VOGUE arrives firmly on the up so is fancied to defy a 6 lb rise for her stylish Ascot victory. J J Moon is feared most on the back of a good Newbury third, although Southwell winner Stone's Throw and in-form Spike Jones need factoring in too.
