Very smart novice hurdler who came in an excellent second in Grade 1 at Aintree in April 2023. Restricted to just 2 starts since, shaping as though retaining a good portion of his ability when just failing on chase debut 4 weeks ago. Major claims if coming out of that race fine.

Two-time bumper winner proved progressive over hurdles last season, winning twice, including on handicap bow at Uttoxeter. Bred for chasing but unseated on first start over fences at Lingfield (16/1) on reappearance last month. Much more like it when second at Warwick since.

Verdict

BLUE LAS had little chance with a very useful rival at Warwick 3 weeks ago but it was still an encouraging effort on second chase start and the 7 lb she receives from Maximilian may prove to be decisive.
