4/5
Point/bumper winner who has made a promising start over hurdles this season following wind surgery, successful at Newton Abbot (21.5f) in October and showing marked improvement when following up at Exeter (16.7f) at the start of the month. Better still to come now handicapping.

7/2
Bumper/4-time hurdles winner who had a quiet 2024/25 campaign, failing to complete on 2 of his 3 starts, including when pulled up at Haydock (24.2f) in February. Off since and subsequently left Jimmy Moffatt and interesting if the betting vibes are particularly positive.

4-time winner in handicap hurdles during 2024/25 and he stepped up plenty on his reappearance run with cheekpieces enlisted when finishing a good second of 6 in handicap hurdle at Wetherby (2m, soft) 22 days ago. Interesting despite a 3 lb rise in the weights.

Off the mark over hurdles early in 2024 and scored twice on level later that year. However, lightly raced and disappointing since, off 7 months prior to being pulled up on handicap hurdle debut at Wetherby (2m, soft) at the beginning of the month. Tongue strap now reached for.

Forecasts

Gentleman Toboot (4/5), Double Oban (9/4), Bingoo (7/2), Justus (40/1)

Verdict

Having laid down solid foundations in bumpers, GENTLEMAN TOBOOT has looked a very good prospect switched to hurdles, staying on to make it 2-2 in an Exeter novice (16.7f) 23 days ago. Every inch the type to go on improving, he could prove tough to contain now handicapping in his hat-trick bid. Recent Wetherby second Double Oban may provide chief resistance.
