Temperamental sort who underwent breathing surgery before coming in a creditable second of 4 in handicap chase at Fontwell (19.5f, good to soft) 35 days ago. Can't be discounted with blinkers added.

All 5 of his wins have come at Plumpton but he ran poorly after 9 months off when last of 5 in handicap chase there (17f, good) on his return last month. Something to prove now.

Made all in 2m4f Uttoxeter handicap hurdle in June but yet to match that form in two runs over fences, a well-held fourth of seven in 2m4f Windsor handicap 28 days ago. Lots more is required.

Has shown plenty of temperament (running out twice) but was coaxed to victory under a good ride in novice hurdle at Fontwell in March. Had a wind op before coming in a well-held seventh of 9 on his chasing bow at Huntingdon (2m) 49 days ago. A big step forward is needed.

Landed back-to-back handicap chases at Ffos Las in November and posted a good third of 9 in his hat-trick bid at Haydock (20f, good) 18 days ago. Bold showing is on the cards eased 1 lb here.

A fairly useful 17f hurdles winner in France last spring but hasn't fired in 5 runs since coming to Britain, including when fourth of 6 tackling the larger obstacles for the first time at Wetherby (15f) 25 days ago. Not easy to make a case for.

A winner over fences on final outing for H. & G. Lageneste & Macaire (sold for €55,000). Took a long time to make it to the track for his current connections but shaped with some encouragement when fifth of 7 in 3m Ludlow handicap hurdle on his recent return. Not without interest back chasing.

David Pipe's JAIPALETEMPS arrives at the top of his game so is fancied to bag a third victory of the season at the chief expense of Jeu d'Opale who reverts to fences after an encouraging reappearance fifth over hurdles at Ludlow. Diplomatic Ash could also have a say if on his A-game again with blinkers added.
