Veteran who scored for the first time in almost 2 years at Wetherby (19.7f) in February. However, his exploits have been distinctly mixed subsequently, merely passing beaten rivals when distant fifth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Bangor (19.6f, heavy) 35 days ago. Others preferred.

Successful on 2 of his 4 starts in handicap hurdles during 2023/24 but seen only once last term, finishing fifth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Cheltenham (16.4f, good) last October. Absent again since but resumes operating from last winning mark. Not ruled out following wind surgery.

Useful 3m handicap hurdler at best but rather lost his way for Nigel Twiston-Davies. Finished runner-up all 3 starts in points since but again displayed little returned to Rules despite a tumbling mark when pulled up in handicap hurdle at Doncaster (24.4f) 19 days ago. Passed over.

Dual hurdles winner at up to 20f who ran well when placed in pair of mares' handicaps during the spring. Returned from 5 months off with a creditable fifth at Uttoxeter (20f) 61 days ago and feasible to think she'll be sharper with that run under her belt.

Point winner who showed promise in his qualifying hurdle runs and much improved for the increase in trip when scoring on handicap debut at Chepstow (19.5f) 26 days ago, drawing clear before last. Better to come now stamina is tested further.

5-y-o who showed improved form when off the mark over hurdles at Market Rasen (20.6f) in April and further progress after 8 months off when landing 9-runner handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (20.7f, soft, 11/1) 10 days ago. Escapes a penalty for that and he commands respect again in hat-trick bid.

Made the frame in both bumper outings and promise on second of 3 quick-fire runs maiden hurdles in recent months. Switch to handicaps in her favour now and interesting to see market support.

Verdict

HIGH TEA showed much improved form when successful on handicap debut at Chepstow 26 days ago, relishing the step up in trip as he drew clear to score by 4 lengths. He appeals as the type to progress again now his stamina is tested further and earns the vote to follow up. Masked Dance and hat-trick seeking Walden are others fancied to be in the shake-up.
