Horse A-Z
Fair maiden on the Flat shaped as if still in good form when third of 8 in handicap at Nottingham (18f, heavy) 50 days ago. Since sold 44,000 gns from Ed Walker and is related to a useful jumper, though Flat form suggests he might be better off over further.

Fair handicapper on Flat, having the run of things when scoring at Ffos Las on his penultimate start. Well held at Salisbury next time. Others preferred.

Fair form at best on Flat but went the wrong way in that sphere for this yard and was below that level when third at Kempton on hurdles bow 2 weeks ago. Blinkers now go on.

Fairly useful winner on the Flat in the France and is probably worth a market check sent hurdling, having J. Reynier for 25,000 gns in October.

Out of a fairly useful hurdler but jumped awkwardly prior to running out on C&D here a fortnight ago. Has to be treated with caution now.

Karaktar gelding. Dam French hurdler (17f winner). Trainer’s newcomers always command respect.
|
Timeform
Showed plenty of ability despite obvious inexperience when runner-up in 4-runner novice on the Flat at Ripon in September. Out of a half sister to a useful hurdler and looks a likely type on debut in this sphere.
|
Timeform
In need of experience when tailed-off last in minor event on Flat in August.

Forecasts

Ashdown Forest (1/1), Whatsgoingonmarvin (13/8), Dream's Ka (3/1), Dissident (9/2), Knighton (8/1), Donegal (14/1), Berkshire Smudge (25/1), Dontelimurnamepike (50/1), Orphan Ollie (50/1)

Verdict

WHATSGOINGONMARVIN was the best of these with Flat experience and fetched 115,000 gns at the sales. He can bounce back from his Pontefract disappointment and make a successful start over hurdles. Dan Skelton's newcomers are always of interest, so Dream's Ka is shortlisted alongside Knighton, who showed promise on his sole Flat outing.
