Bagged 2m handicaps at Sandown and Kempton last season and largely in good nick after. Underwent a second wind op ahead of a low-key reappearance at Ascot, but that was in a significantly stronger race than this and she needs a second look now back up in trip with that run under belt.

Fairly useful hurdler and achieved a similar level of form over fences in recent months. Probably would've benefited from a stronger gallop back in this sphere at Market Rasen (23f, good to soft) recently, which he should get here but, on the downside, this drop back in trip may not be ideal.

Improved with a visor fitted during the summer, bagging 4 handicaps on the bounce at up to 2½m. However, his mark inevitably suffered as a consequence of that winning spree and didn't help himself with some sloppy jumping when well held back from a 10-week break at Kempton.

Point winner who looked a useful recruit to hurdling when scoring over C&D in January. Found the Dawn Run at the Cheltenham Festival a shock to the system next time, but since undergone a wind op and retains potential for her top yard now pitched into a handicap. Stable also fields Him Malaya.

Back on track making all in small-field 3m Newbury handicap last November. Ended last season with a creditable effort at Punchestown, but otherwise below par since that Newbury success and he was comfortably held off this mark at Plumpton recently.

Fair maiden hurdler in Ireland, but ended time with Tom Dreaper out of sorts and debut for this yard at Fontwell last month was anything but encouraging.

It's been a struggle since his Warwick success in February, but the handicapper has shown mercy (now 2 lb below that winning mark) and the fact that his stable has been in fine form of late also augurs well. Needs considering.

Looked better than ever when notching fifth success in this sphere over C&D (good to firm) a fortnight ago. Did the job well that day, but 7 lb rise leaves him looking vulnerable in this stronger race.

Opened hurdles account at Worcester in May and it was a high-quality Ascot handicap in which he was sixth last month. Failed to reproduce that form at Windsor (2m, good to soft) since, but moving back up in trip here looks a good move and he's by no means discounted.

Won a weak bumper on Rules debut at Newton Abbot prior to shaping well on his first 2 starts in this sphere. Progress wasn't forthcoming on handicap debut at Chepstow (19.4f, soft) last month, though, and he remains on a tough-looking mark, despite being eased 2 lb.

Registered second success over hurdles when emerging on top in this race 12 months ago. 1 lb lower this time round and while he was again below par when 7½ lengths third to Melton Mossy over C&D recently, it would be no surprise were he to bounce back with a bold show.

Forecasts

Melton Mossy (7/2), High Fibre (4/1), Just A Rose (9/2), Him Malaya (5/1), Call Me Legend (6/1), Anyharminasking (7/1), American Sniper (9/1), Celtic Art (12/1), Ooh Betty (12/1), Sixty Plus (16/1), Secret Trix (40/1), Doctor Glide (66/1)

Verdict

Devilishy competitive stuff, with several plausible candidates. At the likely prices OOH BETTY could be worth chancing, given that she was a cracking third off this mark in the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr during the spring and her reappearance spin at Ascot will have blown away the cobwebs. Anyharminasking is also on a workable mark and is greatly respected, along with High Fibre, while the Paul Nicholls-trained duo, Just A Rose and last year's winner Him Malaya, also enter calculations.
