Midnite: Built For 2025 Not 2005 Novice Stakes (GBB Race)

Twice-raced maiden on Flat. Likely needed first run since leaving Danny Brooke when seventh of 10 in maiden (150/1) at Newcastle (10.2f) 11 days ago. Back up in trip but better off in handicaps.

6-y-o who was a fairly useful winner in bumpers in 2024. Below form on softer ground latest hurdle start and was well held on Flat debut last time. Another who will be better suited to handicaps.

Encouragement in novices and was again well-backed when narrowly denied on handicap debut at Redcar (14f) earlier this month, having raced up with a contested pace. Likely to be ridden positively back over 1½m and looks to have solid claims in a winnable novice.

Son of New Bay was an expensive yearling but sold cheaply as 3-y-o. Gelded prior to racecourse debut but is in good hands and warrants a market check.

Well-bred sort made a promising debut in a solid all-weather maiden but possibly hasn't been the easiest to train, off for a further 5 months (gelded and given wind surgery in the interim) prior to his third at Redcar (10f) last month. Step up in trip may bring about improvement.

Down-the-field in a bumper and showed ability when fifth on Flat debut at Newcastle 11 days ago, not given hard time. Probably one for handicaps later on.

Dam, maiden (stayed 1½m) on Flat, also winning hurdler, half-sister to very smart 7f-1¼m winner Salute The Soldier. Well beaten only start in bumpers in July last year and has plenty to prove on Flat debut.

Hasn't lived up to her pedigree on the track. Did place in a pair of all-weather novices earlier in the year but hasn't improved for handicaps. Too soon to write off completely with first-time headgear now fitted on return to a novice.

From a family yard have had plenty of success with. Has shown a bit in two all-weather novice runs, well held second of 6 in novice (7/2) at Southwell (12.1f) 31 days ago, no match for winner. May see the best of her in handicaps.

Expensive daughter of Wotton Bassett hasn't progressed from a promising debut last year, for all she wasn't seen to best effect from a less-than-ideal position in a 11.5f Windsor handicap in September. No surprise to see her make more impact back in a novice in first-time cheekpieces.
