£50,000 purchase out of unraced sister to smart hurdler/high-class chaser Hidden Cyclone. Went close sole start in points and has made a promising start to Rules career, finishing second in a Stratford bumper and third in an Aintree novice hurdle (20f). Open to improvement.

Modest at best in bumpers and he hasn't shown much in a couple of spins over hurdles.

£66,000 4-y-o, Walk In The Park gelding. Dam (h109), 3m/25f hurdle winner, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/winning chaser in France Aubane (winner at 17f/2¼m). Fell both starts in Irish points but shaped well when third of 14 on his 2m Ayr hurdling debut 4 weeks ago and seems likely to improve.

In a top yard and has shown plenty of promise in finishing runner-up in a pair of bumpers 6 months apart, doing his best work late on at Cheltenham latterly. Has to be of interest on hurdle debut.

Signs of ability in 2 bumpers in the spring but made an inauspicious start to his hurdle career at Uttoxeter last month, unseating at the first.

Winning pointer who also showed promise in a pair of bumpers but is seemingly being brought along with staying handicaps in mind over hurdles.

£30,000 4-y-o, Walk In The Park gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful 2m hurdle winner Viscount Gort and fair 19f hurdle winner House of Stories. Runner-up sole start in Irish points and showed promise when third of 6 in a C&D bumper (good) on Rules debut last month. Not dismissed on hurdle bow.

Verdict

GAELIC ROVER made a promising start to his Rules career when third to a good prospect at Ayr 4 weeks ago and, with the timefigure supporting the performance, he's selected to get off the mark at the second time of asking under Rules. Le Beau Madrik has shown plenty of ability in finding only one too good on both his outings in bumpers, while Ballyeaston seems sure to improve on his opening effort in this sphere at Aintree.
