Around 4 lengths adrift of runner-up Live Conti in the Grade 1 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle at the Aintree Grand National meeting, but has subsequently gone on a winning spree, successful all 5 starts since (3 in this sphere and 2 on the Flat). However, he's on a tough-looking mark in this strong handicap.

By no means disgraced when sixth of 11 in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March. Signed that campaign off with another win at Ffos Las (also won there on reappearance last term), but it was disappointing that he wasn't able to land a blow on return/handicap bow at Chepstow.

Fairly useful on the Flat and over hurdles in France before changing hands for €80,000 last November. Has joined a top yard, but his mark for this handicap debut looks pretty stern and the percentage call is to look elsewhere on this occasion.

Above-average bumper performer who confirmed hurdles debut promise when scoring at Leicester last December. Turned over when long odds on next time, but back on track with a tidy success in a Ffos Las (15.8f, good to soft) handicap during the spring and he should have more to offer.

Confirmed hurdles debut promise when making all in a Sandown juvenile event last December before going on to finish a cracking fourth of 22 in the Fred Winter. However, well held both starts on the Flat since and others may prove to be better treated.

Winner on the Flat in Ireland for John Murtagh and made it 2-3 in juvenile hurdles last season when landing the odds at Ludlow (15.8f, soft) in February. Sole defeat in this sphere was when third to the smart Lulamba at Ascot and, judged on that form, his mark for this handicap debut looks fair.

Winner on the Flat for Roger Varian and has made a very bright start over hurdles, completing the hat-trick on return at Market Rasen. Solid second to the highly progressive Alexei (winner of the Greatwood at Cheltenham since) at Ascot (15.7f, good) next time and he's only 1 lb higher here.

Improved a chunk with each of his three runs last season, getting off the mark in good style at Lingfield in February. Badly hampered at the fifth flight when finishing mid-field on return at (2½m, good) and remains capable of better, but this drop back in trip is of dubious benefit.

Forecasts

Tutti Quanti (85/40), Indemnity (3/1), Live Conti (3/1), Indeevar Bleu (9/2), Give It To Me Oj (8/1), Viyanni (9/1), Last Rodeo (10/1), Hot Fuss (12/1), Col Du Pre' (50/1)

Verdict

No shortage of quality and potential here and INDEMNITY is the one who appeals most. He caught the eye with the way he travelled through the race at Ascot before succumbing to the late burst of Alexei, form which looks all the better in light of the latter's impressive subsequent display in the Greatwood at Cheltenham. Indeevar Bleu did the job well following a wind op on his handicap debut when last seen in April and he is feared most. Viyanni and Live Conti are also striking candidates.
