Well below fairly useful best (stays 16.5f) in strong staying handicaps on the Flat this year. Again shaped as if worth a try over further when fifth at Newton Abbot (16.8f, soft) last time and remains to be seen if he fares better upped markedly in trip in a change of headgear.

4-time hurdle winner can race in snatches but ran well when second on reappearance at Exeter (23.1f) earlier this month, confirming his stamina for this sort of trip and faring best of those coming from behind a steadily run race. Leading contender if arriving in similar form.

In good heart when runner-up twice last spring (including over C&D off 1 lb higher) but ended season on low note. May have needed the run in a first-time tongue tie (now removed) on return at Bangor last month and wouldn't be a surprise to see him closer to form here.

Front-runner got off the mark in a maiden hurdle and finished second under a penalty at Hexham before falling on handicap debut here in May. Would have likely made his second chase start a winning one but for unseating at Ludlow and could go well back over hurdles if none the worse for that.

Having just his second run for current yard when winning at Fontwell (19.1f, good) in August and improved again to make it 2-2 in handicaps at Worcester (20f) last month. May progress again over this longer trip and has strong claims to land the hat-trick.

Much improved on his second handicap hurdle start when winning at Ayr (3m, heavy) in March. The first-time cheekpieces he wore on that occasion were left off when fourth on his Hexham reappearance and he may fare better back up in trip with headgear refitted.

Steadily progressed in maiden/novice hurdles, best effort on qualifying run when a well held fourth in a 7-runner novice at Hereford (25.6f) in February. Could take another step forward now handicapping.

PERTEMPS DIAMOND arrives on the up and shapes as though there'll be even more to come over this longer trip. He's fancied to land the hat-trick, with Double Click a standout danger if in the same form as when second on reappearance last month. C&D runner-up Kaituna River may prove best of the rest.
