Very green when down the field in a valuable Punchestown bumper on debut in April but showed much more promise when making a winning start over hurdles in 2m Huntingdon maiden on return 24 days ago, finding plenty to lead near finish. Has the potential for plenty of improvement.

Telescope gelding who overcame inexperience to make a winning debut in a Kelso bumper in April. Rates a decent hurdle prospect for a yard which won a similar race here with a bumper winner earlier in the month.

Made the frame both starts in bumpers and fair form when second in 2m Wetherby novice on his completed start over hurdles. Open to further progress for yard enjoying a good spell.

Brother to bumper winner Getagin and closely related to useful hurdler Crooks Peak but he didn't show any obvious promise in 2 outings in the spring.

Travelled better than most when fifth of 12 in a Wincanton bumper in January but never involved on Chepstow hurdle debut 9 months later. Needs to have come on a lot.

Looked useful when winning a Huntingdon bumper on debut in February but hasn't seen his race out on both starts since, including when a warm favourite for last month's Stratford hurdle debut after wind surgery. It'll be interesting to see whether his supporters' return.

Well held in Wetherby bumper last Christmas and sent off at 40/1 when unseating a first in a novice hurdle at the same course 11 months later.

Forecasts

Brixson (7/4), So You Know (11/4), Quaviste (10/3), Abbey Scope (4/1), Kop Land (9/1), The Final Brig (150/1), Kit The Christian (300/1), Blazing Nelson (300/1)

Verdict

A decent opening novice. Wetherby runner-up BRIXSON gets the vote to make the most of the weight he receives from Huntingdon winner So You Know. Abbey Scope is a promising recruit to hurdling after a bumper success in the spring, while it'll also be interesting to see whether Quaviste's backers keep the faith after his Stratford reversal.
