Progressive over hurdles last season, winning first 4 starts prior to a series of fine efforts in defeat. Matched hurdles form when third on chase debut at Cheltenham but unseated following a bad mistake there last time. Likely remains capable of better a chaser.

Won a Grade 2 as a novice and proved equally useful in handicaps last season, finishing runner-up at first try around 3m at Doncaster in March when well suited by the emphasis on speed. Ended season on a low note but there could be more to come now sent chasing (successful sole outing in Points).

Near smart as a novice chaser in 2022/23 season. Unable to replicate that form in handicap chases subsequently but proved as good as ever over hurdles last season, finishing runner-up Grade 2 Cleeve Hurdle in January. Merits respect back over fences following another breathing operation.

Likeable mare recorded her fifth success over hurdles in a mares' listed race at Doncaster in December. Backed that up with a third in a 6-runner mares' Grade 2 before a busy campaign took its toll. Related to a useful chaser and may get back on track now tried over fences.

Verdict

An intriguing 4-runner beginners' chase. DOUBLE POWERFUL was a revelation over hurdles and shaped as though he could be an even better over fences when third on chase debut at Cheltenham. He's fancied to get back on track having unseated last time. Monmiral (near-smart as novice chaser) proved as good as ever over hurdles last season and is an interesting challenger returned to fences, while Point winner Kaminsas could have more to offer now sent chasing.
