Useful at best on Flat (stays 10.5f) for Jean-Claude Rouget. Shaped with promise with back-to-back seconds for new yard and run best excused last time (ridden too aggressively). Interesting hurdle debutant.

Well-bred gelding stepped forward from his bumper debut when an encouraging fourth on hurdles bow at Stratford last month. Will stay further than this in time and remains open to improvement.

Passing Glance gelding. Dam (h95), maiden hurdler (stayed 19f), half-sister to fairly useful 3m chase winner Susie Sheep. Showed only a bit when fourth in an 8-runner bumper on debut at Hereford in April. Would need to take a step forward to make a winning hurdle debut following wind surgery.

Head-strong sort showed ability in bumpers and was considerately handled on second start over hurdles when fifth (11/1) in a 12-runner novice at Uttoxeter (15.8f, heavy) 9 days ago. Should improve at some stage and market should guide expectations.

Yet to show any ability in 3 runs on the Flat. Plenty of stamina in his pedigree but likely to be a longer-term project now sent hurdling.

Long-standing maiden who again ran well on first run since leaving Anthony Mullins when splitting 2 subsequent winners in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) 50 days ago. That's strong form and he should be in the mix with a repeat.

Little promise on the Flat or in bumpers. Badly hampered and unseated early on hurdle debut last time but remains with plenty to prove.

Diamond Boy gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners, including bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Ahorsewithnoname. Produced a promising first effort when third in an 8-runner bumper at Chepstow on debut last month. In good hands and likely to improve now sent hurdling.

Point bumper winner landed a Stratford bumper on his Rules debut and was only narrowly denied under a penalty at Bangor in June. Nowhere near that level in two starts over hurdles and will be better off in handicaps.

Tailed-off last of 10 to Lord Cauvelliere in a bumper at Stratford (16.3f, good, 80/1) on debut in May. Makes hurdles debut with tongue strap on for first time and needs significant improvement following a breathing operation.

Soldier of Fortune gelding who placed on both starts in Irish points. Sent off favourite but only hinted at ability when fourth of 5 in a bumper at Ascot (15.7f, good) on NH debut 23 days ago. Makes hurdle debut but likely to prove one for the future.

Progressive in bumpers, getting off the mark in a 4-runner bumper at this track last month. Finished third on hurdle debut over C&D 32 days ago (winner has since followed up) and is entitled to take a step forward with that run under his belt.

Showed much more than on sole bumper start when runner-up behind an odds-on stablemate on hurdles bow at Bangor last month, ran on but no match for winner. Sure to improve for that experience.

Forecasts

Snatch A Glance (5/4), Super Freddie (7/4), Lake Tiberias (11/2), Granpa Ger (17/2), Alcaraz (12/1), Blue Sky Dreaming (25/1), Cheesy Icon (33/1), Run Away Joe (66/1), Lord Cauvelliere (125/1), Bourding Pass (200/1), Hopjes (250/1), Deferred Interest (300/1), Pay Dirt (300/1)

Verdict

Progressive in bumpers, SNATCH A GLANCE finished third over C&D on hurdle debut and is fancied to improve. Super Freddie showed much more when second on his hurdles bow and looks a danger, along with interesting debutant in this sphere Lake Tiberias. Granpa Ger deserves an honourable mention, the form of his Uttoxeter second working out well.
