Progressive Galileo Gold colt who opened his account at the fifth attempt in a Chelmsford maiden (7f) in August and followed up with a bit to spare in 7-runner nursery at Epsom (7f) 53 days ago, running on. Merits strong consideration in hat-trick bid.

Footstepsinthesand gelding who improved a chunk despite still looking far from the finished article when readily landing 9-runner novice at this course (7.1f) 48 days ago, well on top finish. Very interesting now attentions switch to handicaps with further progress very much on the cards.

Lightly-raced winner. 13/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best when winning 5-runner nursery at Redcar (8f, good) 16 days ago, aided by first-time cheekpieces/good position. Not discounted but this is tougher.

Fair maiden. 8/1, good second of 14 in nursery at Lingfield (7f, AW, 8/1) 37 days ago, running on. Switched yards ahead of this and a couple in opposition appeal more for win purposes.

Forecasts

Capall Rasa (8/11), Galileo Island (6/4), Aleen (11/1), Uncertainty (33/1)

Verdict

CAPALL RASA found a chunk of improvement when opening his account at the third attempt over 7f here 7 weeks ago, that despite still looking far from the finished article. There's undoubtedly more to come from Tom Dascombe's charge and he shades preference over the hat-trick seeking Galileo Island who brings a positive profile to the table himself.
