Fairly useful winning hurdler last season. A point win at the start of his career and he walked over on return/chase debut at Sandown (15.4f) 5 days ago. Interesting here with this step back up in trip expected to suit judged on his hurdles exploits.

Runner-up on sole outing in points and confirmed promise of his hurdles debut fourth at Uttoxeter (raced worked out very well) when a ready winner of an 8-runner maiden here (15.8f) last December. Good prospect now making handicap chase debut with stable amongst the winners.

Got back on track when winning a five-runner Bangor handicap chase (20.3f) in April. Disappointed over hurdles a month later but was still in second prior to departing 4 out on his return to action at first-named venue 18 days ago. Consistency not his strong suit but claims on pick of his exploits.

Useful at best on the Flat but just fair form over hurdles, let down by jumping at Kelso last time. Makes chase debut having joined new connections for 28,000 gns in October but others make stronger appeal overall.

Winning pointer who displayed fairly useful form when runner-up on his first two starts in maiden hurdles last winter. Things didn't go entirely to plan in 2 runs thereafter (fell on final start) but he appeals as the type to make a better chaser and respected for top stable on return.

Consistent rather than progressive over hurdles and made the most of a good opportunity in a maiden at Huntingdon in April. However, unpromising start sent chasing after 6 months off when well held last of 7 at Sedgefield (16.3f) 45 days ago and this another warm looking heat.

Verdict

A low-mileage winner over hurdles, ADMIRAL STEWART walked over on his return/chase debut at Sandown 5 days ago. A successful pointer, he's a bright prospect in this sphere and with the return to this longer trip expected to see him in a good light, he could be the answer. This is an intriguing contest despite the numbers however, with fellow chase debutants Daytime Dreaming and As The Fella Says also well worthy of note.
