Well supported and suited by the step up in trip when runner-up behind a subsequent winner in a C&D handicap last month, his best effort in handicaps to date. That form looks solid and he should give another good account.

Enhanced fine hurdles record at Fakenham when winning following a break last year but disappointed when pulled up at Taunton in November. Steps back up in trip but has a bit to find if she's to make a winning return.

Caused a surprise when scoring under an enterprising front-running ride here (20.6f) in February and has remained in good heart, picking up where he left off when third over C&D (good) on reappearance, proving he stays this trip. Not discounted in a race with little pace on paper.

Found improvement to get off the mark in an 11-runner novice handicap at Hexham (20.1f, soft) when well suited by the greater stamina test. Still low mileage and there could be more to come upped further in distance.

Back to best with cheekpieces fitted over hurdles last season, winning at Ffos Las (2½m)/Wetherby (3m). Extended her winning sequence with 3 wins on the Flat and proved as good as ever when second on the level at Pontefract last time. May complete a hat-trick over hurdles with headgear back on.

Won a 23f Hexham handicap in June on only her second start for this yard and despite blowing hot and cold since, arrives following back-to-back seconds at Wetherby. Can be competitive off the same mark but softening ground would raise a question mark.

Best effort to date when a well held third in a 9-runner novice on qualifying run at Bangor (19.6f, soft) in April. That remains just poor form and he'll need to improve for the step up in trip on handicap debut.

Forecasts

Sandscape (13/8), Queen Of Steel (7/2), Seahouses (9/2), You Did (11/2), Belladinotte (13/2), Annies Gold (16/1), East Eagle (16/1), Fine By Her (28/1)

Verdict

QUEEN OF STEEL landed back-to-back handicap hurdles last season and has been in fine heart on the Flat over the summer. She's fancied to complete a hat-trick over jumps with cheekpieces back on, Sandscape was only beaten by one at the top of her game when second over C&D last time and rates the main danger. Of the rest, East Eagle merits respect returning to a more suitable distance while there could be more to come from Hexham winner You Did over this longer trip.
