Wednesday Addams^t²⁰⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: J M Quinlan| T: B I Case| OR: 96

14/1

Fairly useful in bumpers but failed to go on from a promising start to her hurdle career last season, well beaten in 2m4f handicaps in the spring. Needs to bounce back now sent chasing on her return.

Form: 267309-

Pescatorius^b,t³⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy| OR: 88

9/4

On the up for his current yard and he jumped better than usual when bagging 4-runner handicap chase at Sedgefield (26.3f, good to firm) 36 days ago. Hiked up 7 lb but runner-up has gone in since so he's a big player.

Form: 5-45321

Valence D'Aumont¹³

Age: 11| Weight: 10-13| J: Danny McMenamin| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR: 85

11/1

Capitalised on a reduced mark with a game display at Catterick (19.2f) in January but not in the same form since, only 11th in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (20f, soft) 13 days ago. Others appeal more.

Form: 36153-0

Caro Des Flos³⁴³

Age: 13| Weight: 10-9| J: Harry Bannister| T: J S Smith| OR: 81| CD

22/1

Veteran who took this prize in 2023 but has been off the track since landing 2m3f handicap chase here 11 months ago. Still must enter calculations though.

Form: 855531-

Mr Mahler¹⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 10-9| J: Jack Power⁽⁵⁾| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR: 81

6/4

Still to get his head in front but he comes here in decent nick, fourth of 9 in handicap chase at Bangor (17.4f, good to soft) 17 days ago. Needs considering now back up in trip.

Form: 0342-44

Ultra Viers^p,t¹⁸²

Age: 9| Weight: 10-6| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: P Taylor| OR: 78

16/1

Remains a maiden after 20 runs but he posted a solid fourth of 8 in handicap chase at Fontwell (19.5f, good) when last seen out in May. Much respected on his return.

Form: P5444-4

Forecasts

Mr Mahler (6/4), Pescatorius (9/4), I Am Rocco (9/2), Valence D'Aumont (11/1), Wednesday Addams (14/1), Ultra Viers (16/1), Caro Des Flos (22/1)

PESCATORIUS is thriving under the expert tutelage of Olly Murphy and is fancied to defy a 7 lb weights rise for his Sedgefield success (form been franked) at the chief expense of in-form I Am Rocco, who could have to settle for runner-up spot once more. Former winner Caro des Flos goes well round here and could also have a say despite an 11-month absence.
