Belhaven Brewery Wishing Well Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Didn't need to improve much (if at all) to make a winning reappearance at Carlisle last month but he's a likeable sort and hails from a small yard that continues to do extremely well with its string of just half a dozen. Player.

Fairly useful winner over hurdles and doubled his tally in this sphere when bagging 5-runner event here (26f) in March. Not in same form with a tongue strap added next time and saddle slipped on comeback 2 weeks ago. Headgear applied.

Opened account for James Owen over hurdles at Wetherby on Boxing Day. Very solid efforts over fences when sixth in Kim Muir at Cheltenham and fourth in Scottish National on final outing. Probably needed comeback run for new yard here 2 weeks ago and headgear back on now.

Went close in the Sussex National at Plumpton last season before coming in eighth of 23 in Kim Muir at Cheltenham. Lacklustre in Scottish Grand National final start but potentially very well handicapped on best form starting out for an in-form yard.

Much improved when switched to fences last season, completing a 4-timer here (21.6f, good to soft) in March. However, ended the campaign with poor efforts at Uttoxeter/Perth so needs to bounce back.

Fairly useful hurdler who won at Ayr in January. Very good fourth of 18 in listed handicap at Fairyhouse final start. Off 6 months. Interesting chasing debutant.

Back on track fitted with headgear/tongue tie when scoring at Haydock in December and, having found one too good on his next 2 starts, he resumed winning ways at Ayr in March. Not disgraced there final start and needs considering back down in class.
