9/2

Mavis Pike²⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: N & W Twiston-Davies| OR: 102| C

3/1

Won a pair of 2m handicap hurdles last term. Appeals as the type to make a chaser and she shaped encouragingly on her fencing debut after 8 months off when a fading fifth of 7 in 2m Uttoxeter handicap 24 days ago. A likely player off a 3 lb lower mark.

Form: 13615-5

Gata Ban²⁵⁹

7/2

Form: 81/8641-

Age: 8| Weight: 10-11| J: S Bowen| T: T R Gretton| OR: 92

3/1

Dual chase winner (around 2m4f) last term. Off 4 months and not discredited under a patient ride when fourth of 7 in 2m3f handicap chase at Chepstow 19 days ago. Can go well off an easing mark.

Annie Nail¹¹

Age: 8| Weight: 10-2| J: Tabitha Worsley⁽³⁾| T: Tracey Leeson| OR: 77| CD

33/1

C&D winner in May but below par since, although she shaped as if in need of the run when fifth of 7 in handicap chase at Stratford (22.6f, good) 11 days ago. 6 lb "wrong" in the weights here however.

Form: 55-1335

Forecasts

Fancy Stuff (3/1), Mavis Pike (3/1), Gata Ban (7/2), Moviddy (7/2), Taxus Baccata (9/2), Annie Nail (33/1)

MAVIS PIKE appeals as a likely improver with her reappearance Uttoxeter fifth under her belt so is taken to open her account in this sphere and provide another winner for her in-form stable. Fancy Stuff could emerge as the main danger on the back of an encouraging Chepstow fourth, although fencing newcomer Gata Ban shouldn't be underestimated either.
