Butterworth Spengler Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle

Course winner over 2½m for Harriet Dickin in spring 2024 and added to tally at Kempton (21f) for Olly Murphy last November. Last of 6 in 2½m handicap here when last seen in May and has rejoined Harry Dickin ahead of this return. Below par on previous attempt over 3m.

Fourth win since April when seeing off 4 rivals at Warwick (21f) 25 days ago. A 7 lb rise shouldn't prevent another prominent showing with his yard in excellent form.

Ended losing sequence dating back to 2022 in 6-runner handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (23f, good) in July and even better form when second at Cartmel (25f) in August. Got another 3 lb nudge but has to be respected in his current mood.

Both wins in Britain at Uttoxeter, latterly a 2½m handicap under Benjamin Macey in July. Good fourth of 10 back there since. Just as effective around 3m.

Five-time winner over hurdles for current connections, the latest at Huntingdon (25f) in May. Given a break since finishing a respectable seventh of 14 at Uttoxeter (23f) in June. Only 1 lb above the mark he defied at Huntingdon.

Returned from 5 months off (had wind surgery) to win at Worcester (23f, good to soft) in first-time cheekpieces (retained since) in June. Good second of 9 back at Worcester last month. Another who has to enter calculations.

One-time useful dual-purpose performer but has offered little in 3 handicap hurdles since returning from a long absence for Ryan Potter. Could only consider if backed.

Lightly-raced winning hurdler who got off the mark on his chasing at Newbury (2½m, soft) in February. Bettered than form when second of 6 in 22.5f handicap there in March. Reverts to hurdling on return and can likely do better again this season, particularly around 3m. Big player if fully primed.

Two Bangor wins (2½m/3m) this season but wasn't at his best when a remote third at Uttoxeter (23f) since. Bounce back needed.

Losing run stretches back over 2 years. Some promise in the spring but ran poorly at Haydock in May and unseated at the start on his recent return from a break at Uttoxeter. Hard to know what form he's in.

Notched 4 wins (2 hurdle, 2 chase) in a very productive 2024/25 campaign but didn't offer much on Kelso reappearance 3 weeks ago and again goes without the cheekpieces she wore for all her wins last season.

Progressive mare who completed a hat-trick around 3m when easily seeing off 12 rivals at Bangor in June. Good length third of 7 in 20.5f Southwell handicap on return from a break 24 days ago and has the potential for better again back at 3m.
