5/4

Kingman colt who finished runner-up over C&D and at Haydock on first 2 starts this summer. Sweated up and ran well below best when tenth in Convivial maiden at York (7f) thereafter but given a break and he's worth another chance.

Moonlight Warrior²⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: P J McDonald| T: A M Balding

9/4

Gleneagles colt who is bred more for stamina than speed and he shaped with a little encouragement amidst inexperience when fourth of 7 in maiden at Newmarket (8f, good to firm, 10/1) on debut 26 days ago, not knocked about. In leading hands and he should have more to offer.

Form: 4

Saxophonist⁵³

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: D Tudhope| T: D O'Meara

7/2

Son of Saxon Warrior who was a promising third on debut in a C&D maiden in July. Still in need of experience and backward step when eighth of 11 in novice at Thirsk (8f, good) 53 days ago but gelded subsequently and likely he can do better, particularly in handicaps moving forward.

Form: 38

(2)

Loma Express¹²⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-2| J: D Egan| T: J Ferguson

8/1

Lucky Vega filly who appeals on paper but looked in need of the experience when sixth of 7 in novice at Thirsk (6f, good to firm, 6/1) on debut back in June. In good hands and she should improve.

Forecasts

Beny Nahar (5/4), Moonlight Warrior (9/4), Saxophonist (7/2), Menwirr (7/1), Loma Express (8/1)

BENY NAHAR needs to dispel a lesser effort in a deeper contest at York when last seen, yet Charlie Johnston's colt had previously showed plenty when runner-up on his first 2 starts (including over C&D) and he's worth another chance to get back on the up following a break. Moonlight Warrior may well emerge as the chief danger from the Andrew Balding stable.
