Resumed winning ways in 23.3f handicap here in May prior to finishing second in a stronger race (also over 23.3f at this course) 7 weeks later. Blew start/arguably out of his depth on belated Flat debut in August and better expected back hurdling here, albeit this trip could be on the sharp side.

Bagged fifth hurdles success when scoring in good style at Kempton (21f, good to soft) in November 2023. Good second in a Doncaster handicap last December, but his 2024/25 campaign was otherwise disappointing and he's probably worth taking on, despite resuming on a workable mark.

Well-handicapped judged on useful handicap form for Nicky Henderson a few seasons back, but failed to impose himself in a handful of appearances last season and it's disconcerting that he recently changed hands for just 9,500 gns. Yard also saddles Glengouly.

Likeable sort who held his own at the highest level as a novice in this sphere a couple of seasons back. Made winning return/chase debut here (making it 3-3 at this course in the process) last November and he's of strong interest back hurdling. Has undergone a wind op.

One-time useful chaser for Willie Mullins, but no show in 3 runs over fences for new connections this year (has undergone a wind op since latest start) and it's hard to know what to expect of him now returned to hurdles for the first time since April 2022.

Plenty about him physically and improved when bagging a Newbury maiden and Taunton handicap (both at around 2m) in the early part of last year. Well held on 2 of his 3 runs last season, but this mark should be within reach and he'll be a danger to all if on-song following an 8-month absence.

Four-time winner in this sphere, but she failed to land a meaningful blow on return from almost 2 years off at Ffos Las in April and this 8-y-o is probably best watched for now.

Fairly useful 2m Flat winner for Sir Mark Prescott and scored 3 times over hurdles for this yard last summer. However, his efforts on the level and in this sphere since returning from a break/wind op in June have not been particularly enthralling and this step up in trip is of dubious benefit.

Seemed to relish a return to front-running when getting off the mark in 2m Lingfield maiden (soft) in January. Followed that with a couple of creditable efforts, including in a valuable Sandown handicap when last seen in March, but will need to raise his game in order to emerge on top here.

Generally below par last term, but returned to form with a couple of solid efforts in mares' handicaps at around this trip at Huntingdon and Aintree during the spring. Could have a part to play if fully tuned-up following a break.

Forecasts

Into The Park (9/4), Lookaway (4/1), Minella Rescue (9/2), Disco Davis (13/2), Brave Knight (17/2), Masked Dance (11/1), Dargiannini (12/1), I Spy A Diva (20/1), No Ordinary Joe (25/1), Glengouly (100/1)

Verdict

It's likely that LOOKAWAY's campaign will be channeled towards targets over fences, but his fine record when fresh offers plenty of hope that he will be fully revved up for this first run following 11 months off and the fact that he's unbeaten in three visits to this course also augurs well. Into The Park is probably capable of better than he has shown thus far and the 6-y-o is feared most ahead of Masked Dance.
