Well-backed when runner-up on reappearance last season. Didn't look the most straightforward subsequently but did win a Kelso handicap under a skilful ride from this jockey prior to ending the season in good nick. 1-1 at this track and capable of running a big race if on a going day.

Inconsistent last season and had fallen down the weights prior to finishing a solid third at this course (20.1f) in May. Took advantage of her reduced mark when back up in trip to land a 5-runner C&D handicap in June. Can still be competitive if ready to roll on her return.

Made a winning reappearance in a 3-runner handicap and has bounced straight back to form following a pair of lesser efforts, drawing clear of 5 rivals (who all underperformed) when again successful at Uttoxeter (23.3f) 6 days ago. This looks another winnable race and he's respected under a penalty.

Made a winning start over C&D for Brian Ellison and only beaten a nose in this race last year. Well below that form this season, finishing midfield (5¼ lengths behind third place Roger Pol) in a slowly run Uttoxeter handicap last time. Below last winning mark if return to this C&D sparks a revival.

Needs plenty of coaxing and was helped by testing conditions when winning maiden Market Rasen (2½m) and bounced back to form in a change of headgear when winning a weak novice here (2½m) in August. Well held back in a handicap last month but shapes as though the longer trip will be in his favour.

Forecasts

Roger Pol (1/1), Idem (10/3), Dinons (13/2), Pinot Rouge (15/2), Mohawk Chief (8/1)

Verdict

Hard to be confident about any of these but ROGER POL arrives on the back of a wide-margin success at Uttoxeter and while that form is probably worth treating with a degree of caution, he's been found a good opportunity to follow up under a penalty. Idem isn't the most straightforward but is 1-1 at this track and ran well on reappearance last season so he may prove the main danger ahead of Pinot Rouge, who was in good form at this track earlier in the year.
