Better than ever during the summer, shaping well when runner-up twice before landing a 23f Uttoxeter handicap in July. However, he has come up short the last twice and is probably a shade too high in the weights for now. Harry Skelton prefers Jorah.

Bright start under Rules in Cheltenham bumpers early last season, winning one before finishing second in listed company. Pretty underwhelming over hurdles so far, but it's still early days and mark for this handicap debut looks fair judged on his bumper exploits.

Placed all 3 starts at up to 2½m in this sphere and it's reasonable to anticipate some progress now that he goes down the handicap route. Still, it will take a pretty sizeable chunk of improvement in order for him to emerge on top here.

Started and ended last season on a winning note, signing off with a career-best Fontwell success (19f, good to soft) in a first-time visor during the spring. Resumes on a 6 lb, but he can evidently go well fresh and it would be no surprise to see this 6-y-o play a leading role.

No show sole start for James Moffatt in a bumper back in April 2024 and while he has left that form well behind switched to hurdles for new yard this year, his mark for this handicap debut is no gift.

Promise in an Exeter bumper and a couple of C&D maiden hurdles in 2024. Could finish only mid-field upped to 24.2f for his handicap debut at Newbury back from a break in March, but this drop back in trip is a good move and he's not without hope. Yard also represented by Kingston Gent.

Showed improved form to get off the mark in his second handicap at Sandown (2m, soft) last December. Well held here next time, but back on track when runner-up at Newbury when last seen in March and it's likely that this stiffer test will be in his favour.

Fetched €60,000 as a 3-y-o and while it probably wasn't the strongest of juvenile events in which he made a winning debut at Market Rasen (16.6f, good to soft) in February, he nevertheless looked above-average that day. This stiffer test will suit now handicapping and he's of major interest.

Low-mileage 5-y-o who found some improvement when making a winning debut over this C&D on final run of last season, displaying a willing attitude in the process. 5 lb rise fair and his best days are surely still ahead of him.

Winner of the second of his 2 starts between the flags and bettered previous efforts in this sphere when runner-up in a Fontwell handicap (21.8f, good) during the spring. Each-way chance if fully tuned-up for this assignment.

Returned to his best when opening hurdles account at Worcester (2m, good to soft) in May and followed that with a couple of creditable efforts in defeat. Could have a say if this step up in trip works in his favour.

Fairly useful bumper winner who was limited to just 3 appearances in maiden/novice company last season, finishing a well-held sixth in a 7-runner Grade 2 at Haydock when last seen in January. Could be about to take a sizeable step forward now switched to handicap company.

Confirmed hurdles debut promise when second in a 9-runner Worcester maiden hurdle (2m, good) in June. Further progress wasn't forthcoming over the same C&D on subsequent handicap bow, but this stiffer test may well help unlock some improvement.

Took advantage of reduced mark when striking back in this sphere at Fontwell (21.8f, soft) in January. This drop back in trip should help having unsurprisingly failed to get home over 3m at Perth on final start of last season (raced freely). Entitled to come on for the run.

Fairly useful on the Flat for Owen Burrows and made a successful start to his hurdle career in Ludlow juvenile (15.7f) last November. Back to that level when third on handicap debut behind The Magus over this C&D during the spring, but well held both in this sphere and on the level since.

Runner-up in a handicap at Uttoxeter and Worcester novice (both at 2½m) during the summer, but his form has dipped badly the last twice and yard saddles a more compelling candidate in Activist.

The unexposed LUNDI NOIR will need to improve on the bare form of his debut success in a Market Rasen juvenile last season, but he can be expected to do just that now faced with a stiffer test on this handicap bow, armed with a handy 4-y-o weight allowance. Tom Lacey's charge gets the nod ahead of another likely improver in Jorah, while Block Rockin Beats and Got A Dream are both feasibly treated judged on bumper exploits and C&D winner The Magus also enters calculations.
