JCB Hydrogen Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Off time: 15:37 | Winning time: 4m 44.11s

Midnight Jewel^p¹⁵

Age: 9| Weight: 11-10| J: Lily Pinchin| T: C E Longsdon| OR: 110| CD

12/1

Likeable front runner who enhanced excellent Fontwell record for latest success a fortnight ago, keeping on gamely. Up just 1 lb so another bold bid seems assured.

Form: 217731

Jackpot Cash^h¹⁴⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-9| J: S Bowen| T: James Owen| OR: 109| D

1/1

Another to have thrived following a switch to this yard, taking his record to 4 wins and 3 places efforts from 7 starts at Sedgefield in May, in command from some way out. Given a break but 3 lb mark looks lenient.

Form: 2311-21

Zestful Hope^p³⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-7| J: James Bowen| T: C E Longsdon| OR: 107| D

8/1

Fair handicap hurdler/chaser who recorded a first success over fences at Hereford (19f, soft) in February. Not in the same form twice since but should be sharper with return over timber under his belt.

Form: 32410-6

Catchim^t¹⁰⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: C J Todd| T: C & A Pogson| OR: 104| D

14/1

Made winning start under Rules in novice hurdle at Southwell over a year ago but matched that form only once over fences since.

Form: 14P2-35

Davidoc^h1,t⁸²

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: G Sheehan| T: Jamie Snowden| OR: 104

7/2

Fair winning hurdler has matched that form over fences without managing to get his head in front. Second of 3 at Worcester in July, perhaps finding 23f slightly too much of a test and he's down in trip on first run for a new yard with a hood also fitted.

Form: 432-242

Pep Talking^p¹⁵⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 11-2| J: Jack Andrews⁽³⁾| T: Billy Aprahamian| OR: 102| BF| C| D

13/2

Four-time winner for this stable and while he didn't complete the hat-trick at Warwick in May, he shaped as though still in top form given he made a series of errors but still managed to finish second. Can be a factor back from a break.

Form: 1P311-2

Forecasts

Jackpot Cash (1/1), Davidoc (7/2), Pep Talking (13/2), Zestful Hope (8/1), Midnight Jewel (12/1), Catchim (14/1)

JACKPOT CASH has been yet another James Owen success story and sure to be well prepared following a break, he can pick up where he left off in the spring. Pep Talking boats a similar profile to the selection and is feared most, ahead of Midnight Jewel.
