Vastly improved since being fitted with a tongue strap, completing a four timer (and third C&D win) in August. The fact 4 fences were omitted probably counted against him (fluent jumper) when 3½ lengths second behind Breaking Cover back here since and expected to be much closer this time.

Dual hurdles winner earlier this season who arrives on the back of chase victories over C&D/Worcester in recent weeks. However, certainly hasn't looked a natural in this sphere so he'll need to keep the errors at bay if he's to bring up the hat-trick from career-high mark.

Runner-up completed starts in points and progressive form over hurdles, taking his record to 2-3 in handicaps in 10-runner contest at Plumpton (15.9f) when last seen in April. Rates an intriguing contender now his attentions switch to larger obstacles on return, with further progress anticipated.

Forecasts

Centara (1/1), Synchronist (9/4), Breaking Cover (5/2)

Verdict

3-time C&D winner CENTARA has thrived over fences this summer winning 4 times and was probably inconvenienced by the four omitted fences (very fluent jumper) when finishing 3½ lengths behind re-opposing Breaking Cover here 4 weeks ago. He's taken to reverse those placings on these revised terms. Chase debutant Synchronist was upwardly-mobile over hurdles when last seen and confidence behind him on return would look significant.
