Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. 18/1, first run since leaving George Boughey when respectable fourth of 6 in handicap at Thirsk (12f, good to firm) 48 days ago. May sharpen up for that given it was his first run for 5 months and not ruled out from 2 lb lower. Cheekpieces go back on.
C&D winner who was rightly awarded Queen Mother's Cup at York (11.8f) in June and performed well on 2 of his 3 starts in stronger company, sixth of 10 in handicap back at York (11.8f, good to firm) 34 days ago. One to consider operating just 1 lb above last winning mark.
Listed runner up at 2 who has been seen only twice this year, his mark looking the stumbling block after 12 weeks off when seventh of 18 in handicap at Goodwood (9.9f, good, 18/1) 56 days ago. Ease in class now taking on his elders for the first time can see him in a better light, however.
Useful handicapper last season for Simon & Ed Crisford. Well held on yard/novice hurdle debut after 7 months at Uttoxeter in July and strictly below best following wind surgery when fifth of 8 in handicap at Ascot (1m, good) 19 days ago. Steps back up in trip now.
5-time winner during his career at up to 12f but he's clearly not been the easiest to train, on the sidelines for 2½ years prior to showing nothing when last of 12 in handicap at York (10.2f, good to firm) 18 days ago. Will need to leave that well behind if he's to play a part here.
Mehmas gelding who has proved steadily progressive this year, bagging back-to-back C&D handicaps in recent months. However, latest small-field victory probably best not taken at face value and completing the hat-trick will be much tougher from an 8 lb higher mark.
Scored at Sandown (10f) in June and has continued in form, creditable third of 6 in handicap at Ascot (10f, good to soft) 19 days ago. No reason why he won't give another good account.
Very progressive at up to 1¼m in the spring before patently failing to stay 1½m in King George handicap at Royal Ascot. Off 12 weeks/gelded prior to finishing an underwhelming tenth of 12 in handicap at York (10.2f) 18 days ago and bit to prove all of a sudden. Blinkers on 1st time.
Useful winner at up to 12f for Sir Michael Stoute but yet to truly find his feet for new yard, performing disappointingly when last of 14 in handicap (28/1) at Doncaster (11.9f, good) 14 days ago. Eased a further 3 lb ahead of this but others make much more appeal.

Forecasts
Wave Rider (10/11), Calla Lagoon (7/2), Raulin (17/2), Mr Alan (11/1), Chillingham (14/1), Gunship (16/1), Fox Journey (25/1), Twirling (33/1), Contact (100/1)
This could well fall to one of the 3-y-os with WAVE RIDER, who has proved consistent in handicaps on the back of his breakthrough maiden success fancied to make a bold bid from what looks a handy mark. Calla Lagoon and Chillingham are others to consider, ahead of hat-trick seeking Raulin.
