Fair hurdler at his best and having been given a chance by the handicapper, showed plenty of ability remains after 20 months off when third of 7 at Worcester (20f, good to soft) 7 weeks ago. 1 lb lower here and he should come on from that. Chance with conditional taking off a further 5 lb.
Won back-to-back races at Worcester and over C&D in June and July. Looked to have a hat-trick in the bag only to fluff the last at Stratford next time but found his run of good form coming to a halt back at Worcester (20f, good) last time. Bounce back needed.
Opened account in handicap hurdle at Southwell (24.3f) in June last year and matched that form when runner-up at the same C&D in April, clear of the rest. Pulled up on chasing debut the following month and disappointed back hurdling in a first-time tongue tie 7 weeks ago. Cheekpieces added.
Fair 14f winner on the all-weather final start last year and has remained in good heart this season, shaping with promise in a couple of 2m handicap hurdles prior to finishing a close third back on the Flat at Doncaster (14.5f) 8 weeks ago. Could be suited by this longer trip back over hurdles.
In decent form this year, finding one too strong for the second start in a row (had breathing operation) at Worcester (20f, good) 6 weeks ago, taking a remote second final 1f. Place claims once again from an unchanged mark.
Down the field in a pair of bumpers and no real impact over hurdles either, making the frame without doing anything to suggest his opening mark is one he'll be able to overcome at Worcester (20f, good) 6 weeks ago. Dropped 3 lb but more needed.
Opened account on the Flat at the beginning of the year and registered third success in this sphere at Stratford in July. Effort on the level easy to overlook next start and regained the winning thread at Newton Abbot (18.5f) a fortnight ago. Respected from 6 lb higher in hat-trick bid.
Hasn't won since late-2022 but went very close when third at Cartmel (17.2f, good) a fortnight ago, shaping as if a step back up in trip would suit. Gets that here and every chance he goes close again reunited with Brian Hughes. 1 of 3 runners from the yard.
Was retried in headgear and ran better than for a while when fifth of 9 at Newton Abbot (18.5f, good to soft) 7 weeks ago, keeping on again gradually run-in. Drops another 2 lb but he'd be no certainty to build on it.
Little show for Cynthia Woods but winning pointer subsequently (third in May). Potentially interesting back in this sphere having joined an upwardly-mobile yard after 10 months off. 2 lb out of the weights but needs monitoring.

Plenty in with a squeak but the vote goes to ZAMOND, who couldn't have gone much closer at Cartmel a fortnight ago and this step back up in trip might be enough for him to snap a losing streak stretching back to December 2022. Buxted Reel has been in good order over the summer and having been freshened up, he heads the dangers. The selection's stablemate Jipekaa Machin can edge out stable-switcher Crookbarrow for third.
