Pulled up in handicap chase at Kilbeggan in June, but shaped better when third of 9 in maiden chase at Wexford (16/1) 33 days ago, making progress after 4 out but not unduly punished as front pair pulled clear. Wears first-time cheekpieces and holds leading claims.
Has struggled for form since last autumn and finished eighth of 9 in handicap chase at Killarney over 17f (12/1) 38 days ago, continuing to run below form. Drop in class could spark improvement given past ability.
Form has been patchy, unseated rider at Tramore (13/2) 87 days ago when forcing pace before rare jumping lapse 5 out. Cheekpieces back on, needs to bounce back.
Has won twice in 15 starts, both victories coming at this course. Ran below par when 7th of 8 in handicap chase at Wexford (6/1) 33 days ago, weakening after being headed 4 out. Should be suited by return to Downpatrick.
Finished 11th of 15 in a handicap hurdle at Galway (4/1) 23 days ago after taking strong hold and makes chase debut. Without a win in 22 races.
Second in chase handicap at this course in July but last of 4 when out of his depth in conditions chase at Tramore (12/1) 10 days ago. Has not won for 39 races but return to handicapping might spark return to form.
Won a handicap hurdle here in July, but unable to dominate and finished 16th of 20 in a handicap hurdle at Galway (28/1) 26 days ago. Interesting back over fences with first-time visor replacing cheekpieces.
Sixth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Downpatrick (11/1) 41 days ago, making little impression. Yet to win in 36 career starts and easy to look elsewhere.
Won handicap hurdle here in July, followed by a couple of chase runs. The latest, third of 6 in handicap chase at Wexford (6/4) 19 days ago, failing to build on promise of the previous run. Cheekpieces replace blinkers and could be competitive back at Downpatrick. Interesting contender.

Forecasts
Metamorpheus (7/2), Woodstream Lad (9/2), Portarlington (5/1), Lakefield Flyer (11/2), Macinamillion (13/2), Presenting Lad (15/2), Wajaaha (10/1), Look Dont Touch (14/1), Willywampus (18/1)
MACINAMILLION shaped with promise when third at Wexford last time and first-time cheekpieces could sharpen him up further. Woodstream Lad won a handicap hurdle here in July and should appreciate returning to Downpatrick. Portarlington also has winning form at this venue and the first-time visor may help him bounce back.
