Likeable front-runner who landed last season's Stewards' Cup and having scored at Ascot in the spring, he added the Wokingham to his haul back there in June, showing his typical trail-blazing speed. Well below best in this year's renewal of first-named race but he can bounce back.

It's now 15 runs since his last win in 2024 but he's shaped up well in recent outings, posting best effort of the season without being seen to best effect when third in Stewards' Cup 22 days ago. Handicapped to win and he's one to be interested in.

Runner-up sole outing at 2 yrs and, after almost a year off, made a winning start for Clive Cox in good style at Wolverhampton (6.1f) in May. Placed both starts since, best effort yet when good third of 10 in handicap at Ascot (6f) 15 days ago. In good hands and type to go on improving.

Kodiac gelding who showed benefit of his reappearance/stable debut effort when third of 4 in handicap at Hamilton (5f) 22 days ago, in there pitching until very late in the day. Remains relatively low-mileage at sprint trips and he's the type his yard do well with.

Tremendous servant to connections who was successful in Racing League at Wolverhampton last month. Good third at Chepstow next time and gained most valuable and prestigious success when bagging last week's Great St Wilfrid at Ripon (6f). Hard to rule him out in this groove.

Ex-French gelding who was successful 3 times for M. Delcher Sanchez. Steadily found his feet in handful of starts for new yard, posting best effort to date from reduced mark when second of 14 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 80/1) on Thursday. Will likely need to pull out more back on turf, however.

Verdict

JAKAJARO has been shaping up well in recent starts, finishing a good third in last month's Stewards' Cup despite not really getting the room to open up fully. He's evidently handicapped to win and appeals as a big player here from this 1 lb higher mark. Flash Harry is just the type his excellent trainer excels with and he's another to consider. Wokingham scorer Get It disappointed here 3 weeks ago but very much appeals as the type to bounce back.
