ITALY couldn't quite live up to market expectations in a Group 2 at the Newmarket July meeting but there was no disgrace in finishing runner-up at that level on only his second start and this Wootton Bassett colt can prove just too strong for Distant Storm, whose debut success at the same Newmarket meeting has been strongly boosted since. Vintage Stakes fourth Goodwood Galaxy may prove best of rest.
