Confirmed opening promise for this yard when resuming winning ways at Pontefract (6f) in June. Disappointed when eighth of 10 in handicap at same course (5/1) 4 days ago and type to bounce back for all he's not obviously well in on these terms.

Fourth win of the year when accounting for 9 rivals at Newmarket (6f, good to soft) in July. Found things tougher from revised mark when fifth of 7 in a 6f handicap at Windsor (6f) 13 days ago but big shout at these weights dropped to claiming company.

Started the campaign on a positive note when third in handicap at Ascot but record mixed subsequently, below form when fifth of 6 in handicap at Newmarket (10/1) 9 days ago. Visor back on today might help but he's now without a win in 16 races.

Form has been below par this season with 6 runs since last win in October. Finished 8th of 9 in a 5f handicap at Sandown (12/1) 17 days ago, slowly into stride and made no impression. Drop in class needs to have a positive effect now.

Forecasts

Many A Star (15/8), The Caribbean (2/1), Dapper Valley (3/1), Fierce (5/1)

Verdict

Already a 4-time winner this year, latterly at Newmarket in July, MANY A STAR found a rise in the weights enough to anchor him when fifth at Windsor 13 days ago. However, this ease in class returned to all-weather can see him in a much better light and he's a serious player on these terms. Dapper Valley may emerge as the chief threat back at 6f/down in grade.
