Fairly useful hurdler has made a very encouraging start to his career over fences, building on his successful chase debut when a promising third in a strong race for the grade over C&D 15 days ago, having rather conceded first run. Looks well up to winning more races in this sphere.

Irish Point winner rattled off a quick-fire hat-trick in handicap hurdles this time last year and subsequently ran with credit without threatening to win from higher marks. Likely needed the run on comeback on Newton Abbot last month and could do better now sent chasing.

Fair winning hurdler has matched that form over fences without managing to get his head in front. Tried in cheekpieces for the first time (discarded) when again running creditably, finishing fourth in a 6-runner chase at Stratford last month (well in contention home turn). Should remain competitive.

Forecasts

Jubilant (5/4), Paddy De Pole (2/1), Davidoc (9/4)

Verdict

Each of the trio have realistic prospects but JUBILANT appeals most having stepped forward from his winning chase debut when third in what looked a strong race for the grade over C&D earlier this month. He can make it two wins from 3 starts over fences, with the consistent Davidoc expected to give him most to think about, though chase debutant Paddy De Pole is in good hands for his first try over fences and could yet have more to offer.
