Foaled February 7. Dark Angel filly. Closely related to winner abroad by Harry Angel. Dam, 7f/1m winner, sister to smart 2-y-o 7f winner (stays 1½m) Dance Sequence out of useful 1m-1¼m winner Tearless. Noteworthy newcomer but Buick seemingly prefers Snow Light.

Foaled February 12. £50,000 yearling, €450,000 2-y-o, New Bay filly. Sales price rose markedly at the breeze ups and she's a debutante to take seriously.

All the rage in the betting and showed lots of ability when fourth of 10 in novice at Salisbury (6f, good to firm) on debut 27 days ago. Will improve.

Forecasts

Orion's Belt (15/8), Snow Light (11/4), Dancing Flower (4/1), Darkwing (6/1), New Vega (9/1), Fan Me (10/1), Ice Sovereigns (11/1), Frustration (25/1), Just Call Me Angel (25/1), Romantic Twilight (125/1)

Verdict

SNOW LIGHT hails from a stable that sent out subsequent 1000 Guineas winner Desert Flower in this maiden 12 months earlier and it looks significant she’s seemingly the choice of William Buick. She’s the pick before market clues, though Darkwing, Dancing Flower and Fan Me are a trio of other interesting newcomers to keep a close eye on in the betting. Orion’s Belt showed lots of ability on her debut at Salisbury last month and can put that experience to good use.
