Had a productive 2024, 2 of his 4 victories coming over this C&D (including this race). Had excuses first 2 starts back this term and aided by a good draw, he returned to his best when second of 12 in C&D handicap 27 days ago. Back up 2 lb as a result but record here an obvious plus.

Ended last season firmly on the up and built on encouraging reappearance when adding another handicap to his tally at Redcar over this trip in May. Didn't help himself by not settling when eighth of 12 in handicap at York (10.2f) 4 weeks ago. Not out of things for all revised mark asks for more.
Eased below last winning mark and he duly capitalised having been well drawn when winning 10-runner handicap here (12.3f) in May. Ran at least as well when runner-up in class 2 handicap at Epsom (12f) 5 weeks ago and this likeable sort looks sure to give another good account.

Benefited from the step back up in trip after 6 months off when landing a C&D handicap at the May Meeting. However, seen to good effect that day and he's not replicated that in pair of starts since, including over C&D latest. Return to forcing tactics may see him in a better light.
New Bay colt who continued his theme of race-by-race progress after 7 months off when winning 7-runner maiden at Haydock (8.2f) 42 days ago, responding well to lead late on. Appeals as the type to go on improving in handicaps and he's well worth a look upped in trip.
Churchill colt who made the most of a good opportunity in 9.5f Wolverhampton maiden in January. Improved in defeat since, likely he'd have finished closer but for lugging off the rail when fifth of 9 in handicap at Epsom (10f) 34 days ago. Has a bigger effort in his locker.
Australia filly who is going the right way in handicaps, narrowly off the mark at Salisbury and quickly having race sewn up when getting a gap when following up in 6-runner C&D fillies' handicap 13 days ago. 5 lb rise looks fair and respected for all this looks more demanding.

Love Beach (11/4), Daiquiri Bay (11/4), Grey Cuban (3/1), Patagonia Girl (10/3), Let's Dream (7/1), Liberty Coach (17/2), Dream Harder (11/1), Chartwell Jock (14/1)
An intriguing handicap with the narrow vote in favour of James Fanshawe's LOVE BEACH. He surpassed the form showed as a juvenile when getting the better of a subsequent winner in a Haydock maiden (8.2f) 6 weeks ago and he very much appeals as the type to go on improving now his stamina is tested further. Daiquiri Bay shaped well in a big-field Royal Ascot handicap last time and he's feared. Hugo Palmer pair Patagonia Girl and Grey Cuban complete the shortlist.
