Signed off last season with a good second at Doncaster (1¼m, good to soft) on final run for Edward Bethell, but no show in 3 starts over hurdles for Sarah-Jayne Davies during the winter. Probably worth taking on back in this sphere on debut for another new yard.

Plenty of promise first 3 starts prior to opening his account in a Lingfield novice (7.6f, good) last month. Was all out to hold on that day and will need to improve on that if he's to follow up now handicapping.

Successful 3 times over 7f last term and back on-song following a wind op when second of 11 here (7f, good to firm) recently. Return to this trip shouldn't be an issue and he's a must for the shortlist off the same mark.

Stepped up on 2-y-o exploits when justifying favouritism on return in a 1m Windsor maiden (good to firm) last month. Further progress when fourth on subsequent handicap bow at Haydock and a bold show could be on the way.

Took a step back in the right direction when third in a 7-runner Lingfield handicap (7f, good) last month and moving back up to this trip will be no bad thing. Conversely, he hasn't won since striking over this C&D almost 2 years ago and it's likely that he'll again find one or two too good.

Consistent in maidens before failing to get home after racing freely upped to 1¼m on slow ground at Lingfield. May well get back returned to this trip/faster ground now handicapping, but some of the others are more appealing nonetheless.

Three-time winner over 1m last season (including over this C&D) and put in a good shift when third of 12 at Kempton on penultimate start. Seemingly found 1¼m too much of a test at Salisbury since he's not without each-way hope back down in trip here.

Left debut form well behind when springing a surprise in 1m Haydock novice in April, belying odds of 80/1 in the process. However, she was disappointing on subsequent handicap bow at Sandown and it's hard to predict which way she'll go from this point on.

Forecasts

Sea Founder (7/2), Abundance (4/1), Sunny Corner (9/2), City Of York (9/2), Spirit Of Albion (6/1), Silver Trumpet (7/1), Previse (16/1), Arkendale (33/1)

Verdict

The form of the handicap in which SEA FOUNDER was fourth at Haydock is working out well (the winner has since gone on to complete a hat-trick, while the runner-up was successful next time) and he shades preference ahead of Silver Trumpet, who was a good second here following a wind op 16 days ago. This drop back in trip will help Sunny Corner and he is best of the rest.
