Off time: 18:02 | Winning time: 3m 48.00s

Ilostasock³²

250/1

Down the field in bumpers and offered little in a couple of recent starts in this sphere.

Form: 975-56

Jager Time⁷⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: J J Burke| T: F O'BrienWS

14/1

Down the field in a pair of bumpers and fared no better on either start over hurdles. Looks one for low-grade staying handicaps. Had wind operation.

Form: 3/0045-

Scottish Anthem^t¹⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: C Gethings| T: Michael Keady

17/2

Fairly useful but irresolute handicapper on Flat for Simon & Ed Crisford. Stopped quickly on yard/hurdles debut at Huntingdon in March and well held back on level at Royal Ascot since. Something to prove at present.

Form: P-

Squire Danagher³¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Ben Jones| T: B Pauling

4/1

Fairly useful Flat winner who left hurdles debut form behind when second of 9 in novice at Worcester (16f, good to soft) 31 days ago. Likely contender.

Form: 82

Dynamite Defense⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy

28/1

Modest Flat winner in Ireland who went backwards from yard/hurdles debut when sixth of 9 in novice at Stratford (16.3f, good, 6/1) 7 days ago. Others more appealing.

Form: 46

Hope Rising²⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 10-12| J: G Sheehan| T: Jamie Snowden| OR: 106| D

5/4

Fair maiden handicapper on Flat for Charles Hills who ran out a comprehensive winner on second start in this sphere at Southwell (15.8f) in May. Backed that up when runner-up in novice hurdle over C&D (good) since and looks sure to make another bold bid here.

Form: 712

Kingston Joy²⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 10-9| J: Sean Houlihan| T: K Bishop

150/1

Modest performer on Flat who completed for first time over hurdles when seventh in C&D novice last month. Will likely be seen in better light when sent handicapping.

Form: PP-7

Twirling^t²⁵⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-9| J: James Bowen| T: N J Henderson

9/4

A useful 1m winner on Flat for Simon & Ed Crisford in 2024. Brings plenty of potential now going hurdling for top yard so she has to be of interest.

Form:

Forecasts

Hope Rising (5/4), Twirling (9/4), Squire Danagher (4/1), Scottish Anthem (17/2), Jager Time (14/1), Dynamite Defense (28/1), Kingston Joy (150/1), Ilostasock (250/1)

HOPE RISING backed up her Southwell victory with a good second here last month and is still low mileage. She gets the nod in the opener. Twirling was capable of useful form on the Flat and will be dangerous if taking to this discipline, while Squire Danagher is also of interest.
