Off time: 18:18 | Winning time: 4m 10.28s

Aspire Tower¹⁴

Age: 9| Weight: 11-10| J: B S Hughes| T: J Candlish| OR: 143

9/2

Dual chase winner at Wexford for Henry de Bromhead during the spring and, having changed hands for €44,000, he looked the most likely winner before unseating at the final flight back hurdling for new yard at Clairefontaine (17.9f, soft) a fortnight ago. Looks vulnerable under a big weight here.

Form: 9315-1U

Finest View²⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 10-5| J: Tom Cannon| T: A King| OR: 123| C| D

13/8

Fairly useful hurdler who was runner-up 4 times in handicaps last summer. Came up short first 2 starts in this sphere, but has turned things round the last twice, bagging handicap chases at Huntingdon and Bangor, and she is a big player with the promise of better to come over fences.

Form: 2235-11

Schmilsson²³

Age: 6| Weight: 10-5| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy| OR: 122| D

9/4

Won twice over hurdles, but already looks a better chaser, winning his 2 starts in this sphere at Perth with minimum fuss. Left clear at the last on latter occasion, but probably would've won had the leader not departed in any case and, with the promise of better to come, he's the one to beat.

Form: 4543-11

Black Hawk Eagle⁵²

Age: 7| Weight: 10-5| J: R Patrick| T: Kerry Lee| OR: 118

4/1

Back-to-back handicap hurdle winner during 2023/24 campaign and returned to form when runner-up at Hereford (16.2f, good) in April. Wasn't disgraced when mid-field in the Swinton at Haydock the following month, but will need to improve for the switch to fences if he's to make a winning chase debut.

Form: 32852-9

Forecasts

Finest View (13/8), Schmilsson (9/4), Black Hawk Eagle (4/1), Aspire Tower (9/2)

SCHMILSSON and Finest View have both taken very well to fences and preference is for the former, who made it 2-2 in this sphere at Perth last month. A 5 lb rise for that looks fair and he appeals as the type to go on to better things. Aspire Tower is talented, but this is a big ask under a hefty weight and Black Hawk Eagle will need to step up on his hurdles form if he's to make winning start over fences.
