Successful in a Chelmsford novice and nursery on the Rowley Mile at 2 yrs (both 7f). Showed the benefit of his reappearance spin when runner-up at Beverley in April, but found things tougher at Haydock next time and looks vulnerable under topweight.

Did well for Charlie Johnston during truncated 2-y-o campaign, scoring on debut at Ayr and acquitted himself well all 3 subsequent starts in 2024. Fairly encouraging start for new yard at Lingfield last month, but just a fair effort next time and others look better treated.
Off the mark at third attempt in a C&D novice last August and positive start to this season when making the frame in handicaps at Ripon and Newcastle. Out with the washing at York last time, but that race was significantly more competitive than this and he's high on the shortlist.
Off the mark in 7f Kempton handicap in March and best effort since when a creditable fifth of 11 at Haydock (7f, good to firm) last month. Live each-way chance off the same mark.
Made the frame 4 times from half-a-dozen starts for Ralph Beckett at 2 yrs, signing off with a good third in first-time blinkers over 7f on the Rowley Mile in October. However, he didn't show much spark when down the field on return/yard debut in a Kempton maiden.
Yet to get his head in front, but was knocking on the door prior to finding the company too hot in a Class 2 Musselburgh handicap (9f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Sights lowered somewhat here and he's a key player.
Musselburgh maiden winner at 2 yrs and added to this tally when coming home clear of the rest in a 4-runner Leicester claimer (7f, good) last month. Quite what he achieved that day is debatable, though, and more on his plate back in handicap company.
Pick of his 2-y-o form was when runner-up at Chester and left tame reappearance behind returned to the Roodee recently, finishing a clear second in a soft-ground handicap (7.6f, soft). Obvious claims off the same mark (due to go up 5 lb), but conditions here are likely to be very different.
Showed ability during 2-y-o campaign and didn't shape at all badly when fifth in a 15-runner handicap at Wetherby (6f, good to firm) on return in April. Failed to build on that here (Rowley Mile) next time, though, and now tried in cheekpieces.

The jump in grade proved too much for ZARATHOS recently at Musselburgh where he contested a fairly valuable Class 2 handicap. The step up to 9f probably didn't help either and, back down in class and trip here, he is taken to deservedly open his account. Cairdeas was nearer last then first at York last time, but is well worth another chance and he is feared most, given concerns regarding the suitability of this ground for the otherwise appealing Mayday Malone.
