Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Off time: 16:30 | Winning time: 5m 39.90s

Captain Ivan^p,t²²

Age: 11| Weight: 11-13| J: Craig Nichol| T: Ewan Whillans| OR: 112

11/1

Struck at the fourth time of asking for the Ewan Whillans yard when seeing off 4 rivals at Market Rasen in February. Back on the up with cheekpieces on when adding to tally at Haydock in April and soft ground perhaps contributed to his downfall at Cartmel next time.

Form: 54121-3

A Dublin Job²⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-12| J: Paul O'Brien| T: Harry Derham| OR: 111

5/4

Long-standing maiden hurdler but new yard has found the key to him and made it 3-3 over fences when landing a 2½m Warwick handicap last month, proving 3 lengths too strong for the re-opposing Davidoc. 4 lb rise fair enough and he remains open to improvement in this sphere.

Form: 398/11-1

Kilmurry Jj^t²¹⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: David Noonan| T: Henry Oliver| OR: 109| D

14/1

Creditable third of 16 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (23.8f, good) on penultimate start in November, but failed to reproduce that form at Punchestown 10 days later. Absent since and, though 2-6 in this sphere, he's opposable on debut for new yard.

Form: 604638-

Gateau De Miel^t³⁴

Age: 9| Weight: 11-9| J: Tom Broughton⁽⁵⁾| T: F Brennan| OR: 108

12/1

Hurdles/chase winner for Henry De Bromhead. No show final 3 runs for that yard in 2024 and while he put in a decent shift when runner-up in a Newton Abbot hunter (25.8f, good to firm) on yard debut last month, this 9-y-o looks vulnerable back in handicap company.

Form: PR353-2

Davidoc^p1,t²⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Ben Jones| T: B Pauling| OR: 106| BF

11/4

Got back on track when an excellent second at Warwick (2½m, good) in April and performed to a similar level when chasing home A Dublin Job over the same C&D next time. 4 lb better off with that rival now and should have a big part to play if the first-time cheekpieces help eke out a bit more.

Form: 25432-2

Fame And Fun^p,t⁸¹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-2| J: James Bowen| T: M Bowen| OR: 101

9/2

Revived by a return to positive tactics/refitting of cheekpieces when running out a wide-margin winner at Fontwell (21.6f, heavy) in January. Not in the same form since, though, and it's probably best to look elsewhere.

Form: 25143P-

Forecasts

A Dublin Job (5/4), Davidoc (11/4), Fame And Fun (9/2), Captain Ivan (11/1), Gateau De Miel (12/1), Kilmurry Jj (14/1)

A DUBLIN JOB had three lengths to spare when getting the better of Davidoc at Warwick last month and, though 4 lb worse off with that rival here, moving up in trip here could be the catalyst for further improvement from this 8-y-o. Harry Derham's charge is taken to maintain his 100% record over fences, with Davidoc again taken to follow him home and Captain Ivan best of the rest.
