Course winner has been in excellent heart of late, although was seen to maximum effect when landing a tactical 6-runner handicap at Aintree (20f) 29 days ago. Respected but a third win in 4 starts may prove beyond him off a career high mark.
A winner of 8 of his 17 hurdle races but clearly hasn't been the easiest to train and was well held following a further 14 months off track at Cartmel (25.4f) 19 days ago. Entitled to have needed that run but it remains to be seen whether he can recapture his form back down in trip.
Did well for new yard when returning from a lengthy absence in 2024, winning a 23f handicap at this track last June and narrowly denied over the same C&D in October. Has shaped better than the beaten distance suggests on two runs since seasonal reappearance without hitting the heights of last year.
Fairly useful winner of a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle for previous connections prior to being outclassed in graded company. Ran his best race for John McConnell when fourth in a 2m handicap hurdle at Wexford in March. Respected stepping back up in trip with Harry Cobden a notable jockey booking.
4-time winner for Jamie Snowden (left that yard for £14,000 in the autumn) and proved better than ever under a positive ride on second start for current connections when narrowly denied in a 22f Cartmel handicap 17 days ago. Should give his running again.
Snapped a losing run when getting on top in the shadow of the post at Carlisle (19.3f, good) in April but found out when upped in class at Market Rasen (23f) last month. He isn't the force of old but should remain competitive.
Racked up a hattrick in maiden/novice hurdles at Uttoxeter last year. Had been in the doldrums prior to bouncing back to winning ways under a positive ride over C&D last month and proved better than ever when following up at her beloved Uttoxeter 20 days ago. Up in grade but should go well again.
Improved to land a double at Perth last summer and raised his game another notch when belying odds of 50/1 in a valuable contest at the Punchestown Festival in April. Off the bridle before most at Cartmel last time (possibly didn't handle track). May do better down in trip with headgear refitted.
Useful handicapper at his best but has been operating below that level for some time now, possibly flattered to finish as close as he did when last of 4 over C&D 25 days ago. Handicap mark is plummeting but hasn't shown signs that he's ready to capitalise.
4-time course winner is well handicapped on the best of his form from last season and he did plenty to show that he's on his way back that level when runner-up over C&D 25 days ago, going like the best horse at the weights (kicked on approaching straight, only collared final 100 yds). Solid claims.

Forecasts
Miss Maverick (7/2), Ballystone (7/2), Buy Some Time (5/1), Fingal's Hill (13/2), Well Educated (7/1), Willaston (9/1), Dinons (10/1), Sea The Clouds (18/1), Benson (25/1), Johnson's Blue (33/1)
There could be a fair pace on here and it's likely that 4-time course winner WELL EDUCATED will be played later than he was when runner-up over C&D last month. He travelled like the best horse at the weights that day and looks well handicapped if back in the same form as he was last season. Buy Some Time could be worth another chance with headgear refitted having probably been unsuited by the demands of Cartmel last time, while Ballystone could be open to improvement stepping back up to 2m4f.
