Course winner had some useful form in 6f handicaps last season and hasn't been beaten far in two starts over 7f this season, latest fifth of 15 in a valuable handicap at Chelmsford City 7 days ago, running on. Capable of going well from this mark back on turf.

Off the mark (having been gelded during the autumn) in first-time blinkers when making all in 7f Catterick novice in April. Had much more on his plate in a stronger race from a wide draw at Chester last month, when well beaten. He's likely better than that but still faces an uphill task.

Has hit the frame 3 times at this course, including in a higher grade last season. Produced his best effort for a while back at 7f when third in a Kempton handicap 18 days ago. On a fair mark if he can back that up returning to turf.

Dual winner of 6f handicaps last season and narrowly denied a hat-trick at Doncaster (6f, soft) on final start of his campaign, unfortunate having not enjoyed a clear passage. Goes well fresh and shapes as though this step up to 7f will be in her favour. Solid claims.

Headstrong sort won a 7f handicap at Yarmouth (soft) at the end of last season but that form hasn't really worked out. Finished well beaten on both starts this season having typically raced too keenly. Remains to be seen if he can get back on track here.

Fine record on the all-weather, completing a second hat-trick of the year in 8-runner handicap at Southwell (7.1f) in April. Once again proved less effective on turf when down the field in a 7f Newmarket handicap last month. More needed.

Has been running creditably on the all-weather this year but was easy to back when disappointing on only his second turf start, finishing well held over this C&D 16 days ago. Still has something to prove on turf.

Started career 2-2 for Micky Hammond but below form on final run for that yard in October and has made little impression on two starts for current connections this season. Improvement needed but worth a market check with Billy Loughnane taking over from a claimer.

Fair 7f winner for Eric McNamara for last season. Ran to a similar level on second start for current connections when fifth of 9 in a handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 45 days ago. More on his plate up back on turf in a higher grade.

Forecasts

Nariko (13/8), Racingbreaks Ryder (9/4), Thursday's Child (6/1), Dapper Valley (10/1), Thunder Blue (11/1), Alcazan (14/1), Ash Wednesday (18/1), Monsieur Fudge (20/1), Rey De La Batalla (22/1), Future Cutlet (33/1)

Verdict

Unfortunate to be denied a hat-trick on her final run of last season, NARIKO looks to have plenty of upside now tackling 7f and she can make a winning return. Thunder Blue had some useful form last season and is capable of running a big race from this sort of mark, while Racingbreaks Ryder goes well here and is also feasibly treated.
